Monkees Groovy Button
I feel very accomplished. Here I am, week 3 into my summer class and I've already read and finished every book that we were assigned. I finished the last one this morning, and it was by far the best one of all three of them.

HUZZAH! This means now I don't have to worry about anything except the midterm and the final exam. This makes me happy!!

And gives me more time to focus on...oh...learning the guitar or something.

Weekend...accomplished!

Lazy Sunday. (SARCASM!!) You gotta love them. (MORE SARCASM!!) Of course, for me, a Sunday begins around 8:00 a.m. That's usually when I haul my arse out of bed and finish up whatever is left of my homework. And that's exactly what I did this morning. Once that was done, I felt a wee bit better about myself. I still have a lot to do, especially with an upcoming midterm and a huge research paper I have yet to start, but...it's something!

Got out of the apartment. This is always a good thing. Didn't need to buy anything...just have learned that staying cooped up isn't the best thing for me on weekends. I love to get out and do stuff. So, [info]ladystarblade and I went out to a few shops and looked around before heading to Wal-Mart to pick up some necessities...like chocolate. HAHA!

Came back home and after a while, made spaghetti for dinner. It was so good. And I've gotten quite good at making sure the dishes get done immediately after and getting everything cleaned up. It may seem like a hassle at the time, but it actually works out better. I'll go empty the dishwasher in a moment...as it has run. And, man...was it full!

So...my goals for today were:

Read Chapter 4 of Waiting 'Til The Midnight Hour
Finish GBS article. (The finished article is over 1700 words)
Think up questions for Siochain article next week.
Begin studying for quiz on Tuesday.
More researching articles and books for research paper.

And I even accomplished a bit more than what was on my list:

Update the Celtic MP3 Music Magazine site.
Research workout videos.
Make 80s music mix.

Yeah...I'm now ahead on my homework for History, which makes me...SO VERY HAPPY!!

And my goals were met. You know...this list thing isn't such a bad idea. It keeps me focused on getting things done. I may have to do that more often.

I'm amazed at how much got accomplished this weekend! Constantly doing something. No moment of being bored or having nothing in the works. That hasn't happened in a long time.

I hope everyone else had a good and productive weekend. Or at least restful.

Oh my God...

Paul Wang Scream
It took me over 2 hours this morning, but I'm finally done reading my chapters for my godforsaken History class. I took notes. I'm prepared should a pop quiz be thrown my way. But...oh...my...god.

All of the chapters are long. And I want to read slow so I can absorb all the information...but GAH! There are five books in that class. Put that on top of the 30+ page chapters for my Journalism ethics course and I'm constantly reading. And it's not stuff I WANT to read...but have to read. And I still don't know what I want to do my research paper on. I know it has to be 10 pages long with end notes.

And bitch...bitch...bitch.

I know.

Things are a lot worse in other places and here I sit bitching about college.

I'll stop.

Whew...

The Book of My Life
With a little (who am I kidding? A lot...) of help from [info]ladystarblade, I managed to get all four chapters read and done. YAY!! And just in time to do it all over again. At least I have a weekend.

Bon Jovi - Have a nice day
A few minutes after I got home from work last night...I finished up the last few pages of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows. I won't post any spoilers in case there is someone in the universe who reads this and hasn't read the book yet...but I do think it was a really good book. The Epilogue was...eh...but the rest was a great story that kept me interested and turning those pages! It's really sad now that I'm finished because...that's it. There is no more.

Other than that, I got a package in the mail from my parents yesterday. It contained two Christmas ornaments, a German doll from my grandmother's collection, a German smoker (also from my grandmother's collection) and something called a Memory Bear. It is made out of one of my Grandma's shirts and contains a tag that says: "When someone you love becomes a memory...that memory becomes a treasure." And it's wearing a small bracelet that carries a charm that says "Made with Love" and a tag on the back that gives the "In Loving Memory of Carol C. Brady (Grandma)." It's...an amazing thing to have. It's like always having a part of grandma with me. And...I remember the shirt it was made from too.

Aside from that...I've been wanting to buy music. I can't, but I've been wanting to. There are a few CDs that I've been meaning to buy forever...and I just haven't gotten around to it. But first...I need to get that dress for GenCon. And that's going to be at least $200. And then any alterations (remember...I'm short!), which always varies in cost. GAH!! I wish I was one of thoes people who could try something on and just have it fit and look fabulous.

Down to one week before I start my new job. GAH! It's coming up fast. Got tons to do, but I think my day starts with clearing off my boss' desk. He's buried again and it's making him not want to do work. Not good.

Okay...time to get ready for that place called work.

Harry Potter...

Self-control is highly overrated
Well, [info]ladystarblade finished up with my copy of the latest Harry Potter book last night about 8:00 p.m. I read until about midnight and am at Chapter 14 currently. I hate that I have to be at work today because I would so spend today reading otherwise and finishing the book. I have a feeling, thanks to the wonderful world of work...that this may take me a few days...which means I have to dodge threads and the like and...GRRRRRRR!!! I refuse to be spoiled. I wish the weekend was longer.

Alright...I need to call the court house and get some work done. May or may not show up online tonight...as I will more than likely be reading. But, gotta take a break sometime, eh?
