Who said that Spring Break actually meant a break? Because I have done nothing but run, run, run since that kicked in on Thursday night after class. Not only that...I HAVE to work...so no actual break there eiher. And somewhere in this time...I need to read 2 chapters for History class, and take notes, write my research paper for history class, read the next chapter in Journalism Ethics, and somehow still find time to enjoy my time off.

Yeah. Right.

But yesterday was good. Went out to eat at La Rositas. Made the leftovers lunch this morning. Yum.

Went grocery shopping. No tears this week...thank GOD!

Came home and decided to do some drinking. Picked up some delcious lemonade vodka. More on that later with pictures. Seriously. Watched Queen and Police videos while drinking. I needed that.

Woke up this morning...worked some on homework (didn't get far), did yoga, went out to get a birthday present for only_playing, ran some errunds, picked up some music on sale...a Don Henley album on vinyl and two Billy Joel CDs. WOOT!

Went to only_playing's birthday party. Watched a few movies. One of which had a soundtrack by Stewart Copeland...which made both ladystarblade and I bow down and worship. Hehehe.

Other than that...have been preparing for the busy Easter day tomorrow.

Holidays are always so much more work than they are fun.

Just sayin'.

Most of you are probably aware of my one-time dream to go off to film school and become a great director/producer like Steven Spielberg. Most of you also know that I own almost ALL of his movies. I slacked off recently due to not having money to buy them, but I'll get them. ;)

But, today, Steven Spielberg, someone I idolized since I was little, turns 61. So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to one of the greatest film directors out there...and here's to many more years of his imagination and his movies!

So...it's that time of year. Christmas parties are springing up all over the place. And tonight, it's ladystarblade's work party. So, we'll be heading out to that in a bit.

And on Friday, it's the Alumni Associaiton's Christmas party at the university, so I'll be heading to that as well. And just...lots to do.

Still haven't been able to look at my study cards. I will tonight though. I have to. And I must know them by tomorrow and re-read 4 chapters by Monday at 5:45 p.m.

Am I freaking out yet...not yet.

Give me until tomorrow...

Since the family was in town, those of us with September birthdays (everyone in attendance except for Landon) exchanged our birthday presents. It looked like everyone appreciated what I got them.

From my family, my brother, his wife, and my nephew and niece sent me a $10 gift card from Red Lobster. YES! Foodage!

My sister and her husband got me two long sleeve shirts that I can wear to work. I needed those. WOOHOO!! And they really are cute.

My parents got me a pair of black leather boots that climb up to the knee (this is how much they rawk!) and also something called a "Perfect Petzzz." What it is: A life-size stuffed animal cat. It comes with a bed for home and a travel case that looks like something a real cat would use. Here's the kicker...it is made to look like it's breathing. So, if I look over, I see the side rising and falling. And it purrs!! It's the strangest thing ever...yet, oddly fascinating and cute. It looks a lot like my cat back in Alabama named Penny Lane (they got me the Orange Tabby if you went to look at the page). Anyway, after a lot of thought, we're calling her Fiona, after the Shrek character, as we have plenty of Donkeys, Shreks, and Puss in Boots around this place!

So...it was great fun!! Got to take them out and do a lot of stuff this wekeend. Had a good time!!

Well, despite the rocky start to the day, things did start to improve...eventually.

This morning, while at work, I was surprised by my department. I didn't even notice that everyone showed up in our little work space. And by everyone, I mean the people who work in that little hallway with me, the vice-chancellor, her secretary, the new director of marketing, and the guy in charge of alumni thingies...all there. How did I miss them coming in??

So, I was surprised with a birthday card, and Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Along with chocolate milk. Yes...these are my people!!! YUM!! We all know I'm addicted to chocolate milk. Hehehe. And I mentioned Talk Like A Pirate Day and the Vice Chancellor started talking like a pirate. It was awesome. And she was really good at it. Hehehe.

Then...I got a few text messages and phone calls of birthday wishes.

And after work, ladystarblade showed up with the greatest dinner ever. A burger from Rally's. YUM!! I've been craving that for...like...ever. LOL!! So...good choice!!

Went to class. My parents called while I was in class, so I had to call them in between. Then came home. Now am killing some time with writing. :) I am having so much fun working on this story.

As for the booty I pulled in today...and at the previous birthday party (aka: Donkey Day) over at the family house...

1.) congoddess will be getting me a DVD/CD of my choice at Best Buy.
2.) congoddess and Richie got me a stuffed Donkey from Shrek dressed up in knight gear. It's so cute.
3.) Mom2 got me a Pirates of the Caribbean towel.
4.) Mom2 got me a scarf for my gypsy costume.
5.) Sandy got me an Eeyore purse/backpack. It will be my travel bag.
6.) lost_judi got me a Pirates of the Caribbean lunch box. And inside was a bag of Hershey's Kisses and the DVD that Stewart Copeland made of the Police called EVERYONE STARES. And I watched it over the weekend...and it was SO good and so funny. Loved the commentary.
7.) ladystarlade got me a Snowbaby for my collection.
8.) Mom2 got me a mp3 player. I am no longer the only person who doesn't own one! YAY!
9.) ladystarblade got me 2 more bath towels because I only own 6 and I'm always running out.
10.) ladystarblade bought me this really cute Eeyore shirt. It has long sleeves. Perfect for fall!
11.) ladystarblade got me Hershey's Sticks. YUM!!
12.) ladystarblade got me Trivial Pursuitt, 80s Edition. YES!
13.) And by sheer luck at the laundry place last night...ladystarblade won me a giant Hammy from Over the Hedge in the grabby machine. Awesome!!

And that's my day!!
