I've been pretty "meh" this weekend. I really don't feel as though I should complain...but I didn't get to really accomplish anything.
--I practiced my guitar for maybe 10 minutes all weekend. Will I know "Wild Thing" by Wednesday? Not when I have class on Monday and Tuesday. *sigh*
--I didn't read any of the 300 pages that I had in my book for class. This...is not good. Class is at 5:45 tomorrow night...and I bet Miss K will be in my office tomorrow.
--I didn't get to do my photo shoot. And this was something I've been looking forward to. Yesterday was shot. I mean, the entire day was shot. And today was cold and rainy outside which meant...no photo shoot. And this just puts me in a blah mood. As does the weather.
--I wanted to clean my room. I accomplished cleaning off the coffee table (but only because Maureen was over and she fixed the loose leg) and I did some culling of my greeting cards and letters that I've saved since, oh, 1994. Yeah, that took all day.
--I wanted to clean the apartment. I wasn't home long enough to even start on that.
--I wanted to draw. I mean, get out the sketch pad and draw. I didn't. But I did manage to create some LJ icons for
ladystarblade...that she likes and will use. Well, two of them. One is already in use. The other has yet to be uploaded...but she likes it.
--I feel like an underachiever. As in what I've done in life thus far. Weird. I think it has to do with not owning slips of paper that document my successes. My memory is all I have to serve that purpose.
--San Francisco is going to be my big trip this year. I say this only because it's going to cost me everything I have to get out there. And, unfortunately, the trip falls at the same time my car payment is due, my college tuition needs to be paid, Dragon*Con needs to be attended (and paid for!), and my September birthday month of doom begins. It's going to be fun...as soon as all the logistics get worked out and I stop freaking out about the money situation. Come on economic stimulus check.
--My individual meeting is on Wednesday with JJW. I intend to voice my thoughts on the way I was treated last week. Because I'm still pissed off about it.
--I'm wondering if my job will be of any use in the near future. Special Events is being taken away from Alumni Affairs...and does the director of Alumni Affairs really need an assistant when Special Events are no longer involved? Things that make you go hmmmm...
--Laundry was pretty much the only thing on my list that needed to be done this weekend that I actually accomplished. That and baking banana bread.
Much sadness.
But tomorrow starts another week. Hopefully one that isn't as full of suckage.

I've just decided I really, really, really want to bake cookies. Not just any cookies...but cookies I got a recipe for awhile back. Cookies are not my forte, but I love to bake (not cook) and I really, really want to make them.

Tonight, I spent a good three hours baking three batches of brownies. Not for me, mind you.
lost_judi is holding a room party on Saturday at ConGlomeration and asked me to bake brownies for it. Since I have very famous brownies. I made three different kinds. YAY!! Now the apartment smells like brownies.
I was restless...but I think I'm going to slink back to bed.
HOWEVER...I did get the best e-mail from my dad tonight. He sent me an advertisement for different cruises. This is how well he knows me...LOL! He says...I think the third one down is the perfect cruise for you to go on. So...I scroll down. Ships & Dip III with the Barenaked Ladies and Gaelic Storm. Yeah...he knows me! LOL!!
Alright...sleep. Tomorrow is work and then CON!!!
Have a great weekend all!!

I love good music. Good LIVE music. And this weekend, I certainly got to hear it. I was in Nashville for the Loreena McKennitt concert at the Ryman Auditorium. And the experience was amazing. She has an amazing voice. But what really captured my attention was the music. There were 10 musicians on that stage, most of them played multiple instruments. And the music...it just was awesome!! This isn't much of a review, but it's hard to put into words. Just...wow. I was so glad I had the opportunity to see her in concert here...as she doesn't tour the states that often.
Still recovering...but I think I'm going to make some Rice Krispy treats. Wish me luck!!

Yesterday both
ladystarblade and I decided to splurge and get paid accounts on Live Journal. This means that we have a lot more options when it comes to our posts...but more importantly...ROOM FOR MORE ICONS!!!
This also means I've been creating icons like they are going out of style. And I still have quite a few to make and more to think on and see about creating. Ah, I love it.
ladystarblade designed my new layout and since she enjoys it...she'll be putting together a mood theme for me. I just need to find something that I like that has enough pictures to cover the 91 emotions. But thank you Twin!! ((HUGS))
She also bought me the soundtrack to "Young Guns II" yesterday while we were out. It was on sale at Best Buy and it's one of the few albums with Jon Bon Jovi that I don't own. Well...I do now. HA!! And I enjoyed listening to it too.
I also started
ladystarblade on Highlander: The Series. She's not too fond of Adrian Paul...but she appreciates the humor of Richie Ryan. And it's fun to hear her MST3K it. Always a blast.
Oh, and this morning I baked banana bread when I woke up. Because I'm awesome like that. I just need to slice it and cover it up for future indulgence. :) I've become a damn good baker, IMO!! Hehehe.
Tonight is Thunder Over Louisville. And that means...FIREWORKS. It's the kickoff to the Kentucky Derby festival. So, for the next two weekends, I'm either going to be hanging out in my apartment or heading away from Louisville, where everyone, including the Queen, will be heading for Derby. Oh boy!
And I know I'll be back later with more...but for now...I just want to create.
