I feel very accomplished. Here I am, week 3 into my summer class and I've already read and finished every book that we were assigned. I finished the last one this morning, and it was by far the best one of all three of them.
HUZZAH! This means now I don't have to worry about anything except the midterm and the final exam. This makes me happy!!
And gives me more time to focus on...oh...learning the guitar or something.

I did forget I had a paper proposal due yesterday. Ooops. I did it in 5 minutes and e-mailed it to the professor.
but then I saw your AAAAH!!! avatar over here. And so now I'm going to send big love -- add "Love is the ultimate trip" -- and raise with an OMG
SAVE THE TEXAS PRAIRIE CHICKEN!!!
xoxo
Absolutely one of my favorite TV shows evah!! I need to pull out the DVDs and make another run through them. And yes...I own ALL of their CDs and am working on getting the double-disc re-releases.
And I saw them in concert in 1997. HEEE!! You just really made my morning with Big Love and button saying love!!!
I have to get the DVDs. I fell in love with the show as a kid when they were rerun on MTV. Haven't seen 'em since. But I watched them enough to have bits memorized -- especially that one. My best friend and I used to sign all our notes "Peace, Love, and Save The Texas Prairie Chicken."
Micky Dolenz was my very first drummer crush. :)
At the show I was at in 1997, Davy Jones got down on the table and (ironically) sang the Brady Bunch Theme. My sister got so excited that she grabbed his thigh. I snapped the reaction to that. *sniff* My little sister makes me so proud.
I also fell in love with them as a kid when they were on the MTV re-runs! And then I bought the box set on VHS back in 1996. And t-shirts. And their CDs. And then...I sold the box set and got the DVD sets. And the movie "Head" on DVD (also had that on VHS). And somewhere I have their 1997 tv special on VHS. Just not sure where.
The Monkees were the first band I really followed.
I dragged some friends to see them in 1997 as well -- fun show. No thigh-grabbing, though -- we were on the lawn. Kudos to your little sis!
I really should watch Head again. When I saw it, I was -- 10? I thought it was cool because I thought thinking it was cool would make me cool (er, wot?) -- but now that I'm actually old enough to have a clue, I'd be curious to see if I think it rocks or sucks. "Porpoise Song" was always one of my faves.
Strangely, I went from The Monkees to Guns 'n' Roses with very little transition in the middle.
Middle school/junior high was a confusing few years.
My sister actually surprised me with the thigh grabbing. That's just so unlike her but she was caught up in the moment. Hehehe. I need to scan that picture in. It's most excellent.
My music tastes also changed as I went into middle school. But back in 1995 when the Monkees started to sell their stuff again, I got right back on that wagon and haven't left it yet. I was hoping in 2007 they'd do another tour, but it never came to be.
